Time Line

June 2010: Start PC application back in Australia

July 1st 2010: All forms are submitted including references

July 12th: PC office in DC sends materials needed to complete application (fingerprint check, medical sheets, background reports)

Late July: Send completed forms back to PC.  Recruiting office does a switcheroo on me: new recruiter. All for the better I say. 

September 7: Interview with Chris at PC DC office.

September 9:Nominated in the interview to serve in Asia starting April 2011.

Mid-September: medical and dental packets received. 

October 1: Medical kit received by PC.  Almost immediately I am put on medical hold

November 2: Remove wisdom teeth, send off fax. Day after I receive dental clearance. PC Dental Office:1 PC Medical Office:0

November 9: PCMO comes back swinging; receive provisional medical clearance. Same day I receive an email from my placement assistant asking for an updated resume and my TESOL certificate

December 14: E-mail and phone tag with placement officer. Due to medical constraints, I am given a choice for three departures. I stick with Asia, just for June. Cleared for service 


December 15: Invitation to serve as a Peace Corps Volunteer in China issued (and accepted obviously)
