To rolling duffle or not to rolling duffle

Ah the inevitable PC question, how in the hell do I pack 2 years worth of gear into 2 checked bags that only measure up to 107 inches?! Yes, I have 6 months to purchase and pack, but as I have discovered I am somewhat of a type A personality. Yes, I love lists and planning things. No, I will not have a complete meltdown if things don't go to plan but I do like to plan. So, a grand total of a minute after receiving my invite I turned to my father and said I wanted supplies for china for Christmas. So, for Christmas i had a nice functional haul of treats, with the exception of my family's idea of a joke in a fuzzy panda hat. But I digress, back to the suitcase dilemma. I am so used to hauling a massive suitcase from Australia to the Italy that the concept of getting a rugged bag that will survive hell or high-water, rather than the comforts of the Dubai airport is foreign to me.
Therefore, I pose this question to you fellow PCers, what would you recommend for a good rolling duffle? I am currently stuck on osprey, due to the lovely pro-deal, but am still a bit unsure, due to the limited size and frankly the only remaining one is a butt ugly green color... No offense to anyone that has purchased said duffle or osprey but yeah. It's ugly. :P

  1. If you do decide to go with Osprey, do so before 2011. I talked to an individual about the Pro account today and beginning in 2011 PCV's are no longer qualified for it. Just an FYI! Best of luck! I'm right there with you :)
